Civil Engineering

Aerodynamics

The virtual wind tunnel module available within XFlow enables you to simulate full-scale models and set any analytic function to describe the incoming wind profile. XFlow simulations allow the user to measure wind loads on buildings, bridges and other civil engineering works, analyze the air flow around them, or study the passive transport of pollutants.

Thermal comfort

XFlow thermal solver can be used to simulate the heating, air-conditioning and ventilation of indoor spaces. With the help of sensors which monitor the flow variables in specified locations, XFlow is a suitable tool to optimize the location of HVAC devices for occupants' thermal comfort.

Free surface

XFlow provides a virtual water channel module for free surface simulations. It allows you to analyze loads on marine structures such as:
• Offshore platforms, harbours or submerged pipelines in different sea states
• Simulation of dam spillway and dam breaking
• Flooding of underground facilities
