Blood flow

XFlow can be used to model blood flow in domains created from medical images and simulate e.g. the flow in cavities such as the aorta or an aneurysm, the effect of anticoagulant drugs or assist in the design of artificial heart valves and stents. Flexible viscosity models enable users to model any user-specified flow rheology.

Breathing flow

XFlow has also been applied to characterize the flow through the airways, including the effect of the tongue moving. These kinds of simulations are helpful in understanding some respiratory disorders and in the design of respirators.
